Colorants
Liquid Colors for Hennecke and Laader Berg Machines
Pump-friendly liquid colorants for continuous colour dosing on PU foam machines.

What it is
On a modern foam line, colour is not stirred in by hand. A liquid colorant is held in its own day tank, drawn by a metering pump and injected into the polyol stream just before the mixing head, so the colour ratio can follow the output of the machine. That only works if the colorant behaves like a well-mannered fluid: it must stay suspended, pump without pulsing and flush out cleanly at changeover.
Chemie liquid colors are pigment dispersions in polyol-compatible carriers, made with that duty in mind. Viscosity, particle fineness and settling behaviour are set against the pumps and filters on your machine, which is why we ask for the dosing set-up when we quote. The same approach applies to units supplied by Hennecke, Laader Berg and other foam machinery makers.
Shade matching, batch records and retained standards work exactly as they do for our other colorants, so a repeat order arrives in the colour you approved.
What matters for machine dosing
- Viscosity customised to your pumps and line lengths, so flow is steady rather than pulsing.
- Fine, controlled grind that avoids blocking filters and nozzles.
- Stable suspension that does not settle hard in the day tank over a normal production shift.
- Carrier chemistry compatible with polyether and polyester polyol systems.
- Clean flushing at colour changeover, so the next shade is not contaminated.
Information we need to quote
A short list is enough to start a sampling plan:
- Machine make and model, and whether colour is dosed through a dedicated colour unit.
- Pump type and the viscosity range it handles comfortably.
- Polyol system and index, and the foam grade you produce.
- Target shade reference, such as a swatch, Pantone or RAL code.
- Typical colour changeover frequency and run length.
Why customers choose it
Viscosity set for your pumps
We adjust flow behaviour to the metering pumps and lines on your machine instead of supplying a fixed standard grade.
Steady colour in the foam
Controlled dispersion and tinting strength help the colour ratio stay consistent as line output changes.
Easy changeovers
Carriers selected to flush cleanly so shade changes cost less time and less scrap.
Trial-backed supply
We recommend a plant trial on your machine before a full order, and support the first runs.
Applications
- Slabstock foam on continuous lines
- Moulded flexible foam
- Furniture and mattress foam
- Rebonded foam production
- Automotive seating foam
- Trials and short runs on batch machines

View detailsLiquid Colors for Hennecke and Laader Berg Machines: frequently asked questions
Will your liquid colors work on my Hennecke or Laader Berg machine?
They are formulated for metered colour dosing, and we set viscosity and grind against your pump and filter set-up. Because every line differs, we recommend a short plant trial before a full order. We are not affiliated with the machine makers.
What viscosity do you supply?
Viscosity is customised to your machine pumps. Tell us the pump type and the range it handles comfortably and we will propose a grade.
How do I avoid settling in the colour day tank?
The dispersions are made for stable suspension over a normal shift. Gentle recirculation or agitation in the day tank, as for any pigment dispersion, is still good practice.
What information do you need to quote?
Machine make and model, pump type, polyol system, target shade reference and typical colour changeover frequency.
Which packing sizes are available?
25 kg, 35 kg and 50 kg cans and 200 kg drums.
