Slabstock Foam
Dosing colours for continuous slabstock lines, with consistent shade across the full block length.
Challenges in slabstock foam
- Shade variation along the block and between production runs
- Core discoloration and the need to balance colour with scorch
- Accurate metering at very low dosing levels
- Fire-retardant requirements affecting colour and processing
How Chemie helps
Chemie dosing colours are low in viscosity and stable in storage, so metering pumps deliver consistent amounts through long production runs. Pigments are chosen for resistance to the exotherm in the foam block.
Where fire performance is required, melamine/graphite-based fire-retardant pastes conforming to the UL94 test are available.
Shade development, samples and plant-trial support included

Buyer guides for slabstock foam
Slabstock Foam: frequently asked questions
What dosing level is typical for slabstock?
Commonly a fraction of a part to a few parts per hundred polyol, depending on shade depth. We give a starting level with every sample.
Do you offer fire-retardant colour pastes?
Yes. Melamine/graphite-based pastes conforming to UL94 testing are available.
Why does shade vary along the block?
Typical causes are metering variation, colorant settling in the day tank and temperature differences. Low-viscosity, storage-stable dosing colours and regular stirring help. Our troubleshooting guides list tests and fixes.
Can I trial a colour before committing to a drum?
Yes. Shade development, samples and plant-trial support are included.
What packs are available for dosing systems?
50 kg and 200 kg drums, and custom pack sizes for dosing systems on request.
