Rebonded Foam
MDI pre-polymer binders and colour for rebonded foam, underlay and orthopaedic products.
Challenges in rebonded foam
- Uniform binder coating on foam flakes
- Controlled density and compression set
- Colour of flakes and binder mix
- Cure speed in humid or dry conditions
How Chemie helps
Very low viscosity MDI binders can be sprayed automatically for even coating of scrap foam, then cured with moisture to give strong, resilient blocks. Colorants brighten or standardise the colour of the bonded product, and spray equipment is supplied and supported.
Shade development, samples and plant-trial support included

Rebonded Foam: frequently asked questions
Can the binder be sprayed automatically?
Yes. Very low viscosity grades are designed for automatic spraying machines.
Can I colour rebonded foam?
Yes. Colorants compatible with the binder system are available.
How does the MDI binder cure on rebonded foam?
It cures with ambient moisture. Cure speed depends on humidity and temperature, so conditions on your line are part of the trial.
Do you supply the spraying equipment?
Yes. Spray guns, pressure pots, spares and technical support are available for binder application.
