PU Insulation
Rigid foam colorants and release solutions for insulation panels, pipe sections and NVH parts.
Challenges in pu insulation
- Colour identification of grades or batches in rigid foam
- Colorants that do not disturb rigid foam reactivity
- Release on panels and shaped sections
- Fire-retardant needs in building applications
How Chemie helps
Rigid foam colorants are formulated to be compatible with polyol blends and catalysts, so they colour the foam without upsetting cream time or rise profile. Fire-retardant pastes are available for UL94 requirements. Release agents and MDI binders support panels, trim and rigid parts.

PU Insulation: frequently asked questions
Will a colorant affect rigid foam reactivity?
Our rigid-foam colorants are formulated for reactivity-neutral dosing. We recommend a short machine trial to confirm.
Which colorant is suitable for rigid foam?
Our rigid foam colorants, which are compatible with polyol blends and catalysts so they colour the foam without upsetting cream time or rise profile.
Do you offer fire-retardant colour pastes for building applications?
Yes. Melamine/graphite-based pastes conforming to UL94 testing are available.
Which binder is used for insulation and vibration damping?
MDI binder pre-polymers, which bond particulate materials into durable insulation and damping products.
