Automotive
UV-stable colour and clean-releasing, finish-ready systems for steering wheels, trim, seating and safety components.

Challenges in automotive
- Tight OEM colour tolerances that must hold across batches and plants
- Light-fastness for parts exposed to sunlight through glass
- Surface quality on integral skin parts that are painted or coated
- Clean release and low mould build-up at high cycle counts
How Chemie helps
We develop shades against your approved OEM standard and select pigments for light-fastness and heat stability. Colorants are controlled for grind and tinting strength so batch-to-batch variation stays within tolerance.
For integral skin and trim parts, we pair colorants with in-mould coating compatible release agents and in-mould coatings, so the finish adheres and the part comes out ready to assemble.

Automotive: frequently asked questions
Can you match an OEM colour standard?
Yes. Provide the approved plaque or colour data and we develop and retain a reference standard for repeat supply.
Do you offer UV-stable colorants?
Yes. UV-stable pigment selections are available for parts exposed to daylight.
Which release agent suits parts that will be coated?
Use a paintable or in-mould-coating-compatible grade. Our technical team will recommend one for your mould and process.
Which compliance documents do you provide for automotive customers?
Colorants are REACH and RoHS compliant. A TDS and SDS are supplied for each grade and a Certificate of Analysis with each batch. Share any customer-specific restricted-substance list in your brief.
Which Chemie products are used on integral skin automotive parts?
Shade-matched colorants, in-mould-coating-compatible release agents, in-mould coatings and lacquers, with mould cleaners to control build-up. Our customers include Autoliv, TRW and Toyoda Gosei.
